School background
Granite High School is located on the southeast corner of 5th East and 33rd South. The school was originally built to service the entire valley, including Millcreek, Granger, and Forest Dale divisions. The first high school graduation was held in 1909. Many students are entering the halls and classrooms where their parents attended school. Strong traditions, school spirit and pride are found at Granite High School.

On October 25, 2005 the Granite School District Board of Education changed the mission of Granite High to a small, non-traditional high school format.  Students are at Granite by choice, they have come from diverse backgrounds and for diverse reasons. Granite may not offer everything found in a traditional high school, but to some students Granite offers more - more of what they need and less of what they don't.

Granite is the only high school in the Granite School District to include 9th grade, serving students through their full 4 years of high school.
