Career academies are specialized programs for students who have a strong career interest or goal. The following componenets of an academy program provide unique educational oppportunities for students.

  • Academy course - students complete eight required courses as part of the academy curriculum.
  • Concurrent enrollment - students earn college credit through some academy courses.
  • Student Internship - students complete paid internships with participating business partners.
  • Application Process - students apply for admittance into an academy program.

Academy of Finance - The Academy of Finance is a two-year program for juniors and seniors who are interested in a career in financial services. The comprehensive curriculum includes courses in accounting, economics, banking and credit, financial planning and computer applications.

Academy of Travel and Tourism - The Academy of Travel and Tourism is a two-year program for juniors and seniors with career interests in the travel and tourism industry. The curriculum includes tourism, marketing, geography, English and computer applications.

Academy of Information Technology - The Academy of Information Technology is a three-year program. Two pre-requisite courses (Computer Technology and Intro to Information Technology) are required in the sophomore year. Once these courses have been taken students can choose one or more strands of interest: Interactive Media, Network Systems, Information Support/Services, and Programming/Software Development. Industry certification testing is available at a reduced cost once students have completed the course.
