School background Hillsdale was built in the early 1960s to serve the growing population of West Valley City. The school boundaries are
3100 South to 3500 South and 2910 West to 3835 West. In addition to our twenty-two
classrooms, we have twelve relocatable classrooms to house our large diverse student population. Hillsdale is a Title I school which gives students additional support particularly in reading and math.
Enrollment Hillsdale serves approximately
880 students preschool through sixth grade. 33% Caucasian 51% Hispanic 7% Asian
6% Pacific Islander 1% Native American 1% African-American
Computers and Technology The school has two computer labs. One is a Title I lab used for math and reading skill building. The other is used for multimedia presentations, typing instruction, word processing, internet research, etc. In addition, each classroom contains 2 or more networked computers used to enhance classroom instruction. Our kindergarten uses the Waterford Early Reading, a computer assisted learning program. We also use sound enhancement in our classrooms
Student promotion Students promoted from Hillsdale will attend West Lake Junior High School and Granger High School.
