The school was built in 1986 to serve a growing population. Enrollment Beehive serves approximately 809 students in grades kindergarten through sixth grades. Approximately 48.08% are Caucasian 40.67% are Hispanic 4.57% are Pacific Islander 2.10% are Asian 0.74% American Indian 3.83% are African-American Computers and technology The technological structures are multifaceted consisting of a network system containing a lab of 30 computers and peripheral equipment, a work station for each teacher, and Internet access. All classrooms in second through sixth grades have full computer labs and smart boards as part of an e-MINTS grant. A school website is maintained detailing the history, demographics, and special interests of the school and students. The website also allows parents to access students' grades, homework assignments, and it provides several links to assist and help parents. Additional multimedia capabilities include CD-ROM, Laser Disk, and Hyper-card used for enhancement of student products. Beehive houses a co-op preschool. We also have an Adult Computer Correspondence Course provided by Education Equity on Monday through Thursday from 12:00 to 2:00  p.m. in the Green Hall Computer Project Lab.
