School background Valley Junior. High School has served the West Valley City Community since 1949. The school is located near the center of West Valley City. The school is proud to serve many second and third generation students. In 2004 a new wing was added. The new building is used as the Math and Science Departments at Valley Junior High. Enrollment Valley Junior High serves approximately 1000 students. About 50 percent of the school is non-Caucasian providing a rich school heritage. Students come from many parts of the world. A majority of the school staff is ESL endorsed and/or trained in Sheltered English Strategies. Computers and technology Valley Junior High utilizes several computer labs. In addition, all classrooms are equipped with at least one computer. The media center's computer lab is open for student use after school most days. A growing number of staff members at the school operate wireless mini-labs in their classrooms. Parents are able to access student grade and attendance information via the internet.
