A goal of Granite School District's Comprehensive Counseling and Guidance Program is to bring greater consistency and continuity from school to school and from grade level to grade level in what counselors are teaching students through a scope and sequence of guidance curriculum activities.
The BHAG (Big Hairy Audacious Goal) for guidance curriculum is for counselors to go into classrooms once each term for each grade level to deliver guidance program content to the students.
The proposed content areas are orientation, self discovery, life skills, and future planning. Student competencies in each content area focus on knowledge, skills, and attitudes for school success that can result from meaningful guidance curriculum activities.
The curriculum activities have been developed by Granite School District professional school counselors.
