WHAT IS eMINTS4Utah?

eMINTS4Utah began through an EETT (Enhancing Education Through Technology) Grant in 2003. The eMINTS4Utah project recreates the Missouri eMINTS instructional model from the eMINTS National Center (high quality teaching powered by technology) in classrooms in ten urban and rural school districts - Granite, Salt Lake City, Ogden, Duchesne, Tintic, Provo, Logan, Unitah, Alpine. Visit the eMINTS4Utah website for more information. If you would like information about participating in eMINTS4Utah please contact Rachel Murphy, ramurphy@graniteschools.org.

In Granite School district, 98 classrooms currently are equipped with the tools needed to teach the eMINTS high access 21st century classrooms. Participation in the eMINTS program is a time intensive program with many rewards. Teachers complete 175 hours of after-school training over a two year time frame with a stipend, particpate in professional learning full days, and recieve the following classroom equipment: computers at a ratio of one computer per two students, color laserjet printer, scanner, digital camera, and a ceiling mounted projecter. While most teachers become interested in the program because of the equipment they recieve, in the end the teaching strategies learned and the classroom support received is what makes eMINTS beneficial!

In addition, to the full eMINTS program, Granite has begun to implement eMINTS4All.  eMINTS4All is a program for K-3 teachers who recieve an interactive whiteboard, a projector, and a teacher laptop.  eMINTS4All teachers recieve a subset of the eMINTS Professional Development program - participating in 12 training days over two years. 56 classrooms participate in the Granite eMINTS4All program. If you would like information about participating in eMINTS4All please contact Shauna Jensen, svjensen@graniteshools.org
