School
Background
Woodstock was founded more than 100 years ago! The current structure was built
in 1959, with a multipurpose room addition around 1976. Woodstock is located on
the corner of 1300 East and Vine Street, just south of Cottonwood High School.
The mountains seem to rise up around us! Our school thrives because of the
collaboration of the Woodstock community of parents, students, teachers, and
administration.
Enrollment
Woodstock Elementary serves approximately 440 students in preschool through
sixth grade. Woodstock is an inclusive school, welcoming children of all
ability levels, ethnic backgrounds, and interests. 21% of our students live out
of our boundary area and attend Woodstock under the provisions of School
Choice.
Academic
Status
Woodstock has been identified as having made Adequate Yearly Progress in all
forty criteria according to the No Child Left Behind legislation. Woodstock
teachers are highly educated. Of our 21 certified teachers, five have Masters
Degrees, and nearly all have one or more state endorsements or double majors in
areas such as Gifted Education (5), English as a Second Language (12), Physical
Education (1), Early Childhood Education (4), Math (3), and/or Reading (2).
Community Support
Parents are valued as active partners and are fully involved at Woodstock,
participating in Community Council decisions, PTA programs, and school
activities, as well as helping children read at home and complete homework.
