School background Copper Hills Elementary is located in the west area of Granite School District (Magna). It was built to serve students in the southeast area of Magna. The school was built in 1981. The boundaries are 4100 South to 3500 South and 7200 West to 8400 West. All students live within 1.5 miles and are able to walk to school. The school has 28 teaching stations and three relocatable classrooms. The labs are used to provide programmed instruction in reading, writing, and math. The second lab provides testing facilities. Fourth-grade classes are centers for computer-based instruction through the eMINTS program. Several other classes in the school have specialized equipment for the eMINTS-4-All program for high-tech instruction. Every classroom houses a projection and sound system. The school media center is fully computerized for reference and for materials check-out. All classrooms are connected to the local network and world-wide web.
