During the 1970-71 school year, that building was condemned and the program was relocated to Upland Terrace Elementary and the Habilitation Center (now the Hilda B. Jones Center) for the remainder of that year on split sessions. The next year, they were located at Upland Terrace and East Mill Creek Elementary, again on split sessions. Construction for the current elementary building was approved in 1971. Construction was completed in 1972. It was named after former Superintendent Elmer J. Hartvigsen. Enrollment We have approximately 245 students from Kindergarten to 22 year old. Computers and Technology We use computers, augmentative devices, and other technology to enable students to control and interact with their environment. We use the Internet to connect us with medical, curriculum, and program information for our students. We want to connect with people from around the world who work with students similar to ours. Student Graduation Occurs when students reach age of 22 or when they can succeed independently in the community.
