Handy Facts

Granite School District, located in Salt Lake County, Utah, operates 61 elementary schools, 16 junior high schools, 9 high schools, as well as other special schools and programs. With 68,483 students, Granite is the second largest district in Utah and is among the largest public school districts in the nation. Granite is also one of Utah’s largest employers, with more than 7,500 full and part-time employees. The district boundary encompasses 257 square miles.

Granite District is known for the academic, athletic, and artistic achievements of its students. Granite has also been nationally recognized for teacher professional development programs and the economic efficiencies of its administration.

In addition to its quality education programs for students in grades K through 12, the district offers a variety of adult and community education courses.
