Churchill has a diverse population of students coming together from a large geographic area. Academic achievement is strongly emphasized. Extracurricular activities abound to aid students in the discovery, exploration , and development of individual talents and interests. Enrollment Churchill has an enrollment of approximately 680 students in grades 7, 8 9. Churchill houses two special education cluster units of special need students, and three classes from the Utah School for the Deaf and Blind. Many students enroll at Churchill from Jordan, Salt Lake, Murray and Park City school districts. During the "open window" period (Dec. 1 through the 3rd Friday in Feb.), students and parents interested in a junior high where there is high expectations of academic achievement may apply for a window permit. Churchill's reputation for high academic achievement and extracurricular success encourages many parents to enroll their student(s) at Churchill. Computers and Technology Churchill has networked classrooms and five computer labs. There are also 5 mini laptop labs which teachers have earned through technology grants. Churchill has it's own web site and most teachers have individual web sites where parents can monitor their students' assignments and progress. In addition, all teachers have e-mail access to enhance communication with parents. Parents may access student grades and attendance with the internet. Student promotion Students promoted from Churchill attend Skyline High School and/or Brighton (for Jordan students).
