ESL Endorsement Program

Granite School District in partnership with Weber State University

As part of bringing the District into compliance as mandated by the Office of Civil Rights (OCR), the District launched its new ESL Endorsement program to provide teachers with the opportunity to be ESL endorsed through a high quality program in the least amount of time and most convenient approach. Granite School District Contract Teachers may sign up for ESL Endorsement Classes.

Courses:	ENGL 4420	ENGLISH PHONOLOGY & SYNTAX (3 CREDIT HRS)
	EDUC 4250	SECOND LANGUAGE ACQUISITION (3 CREDIT HRS)
	ENGL 4410	STRATEGIES & METHODOLOGY OF TEACHING ELS/BILINGUAL (3 CREDIT HRS)
	EDUC 4270	LITERACY STRATEGIES FOR TEACHING ESL (3 CREDIT HOURS)
	ENGL 4450	ESL ASSESSMENT (2 CREDIT HRS)
	EDUC 4740	BUILDING SCHOOL PARTNERSHIP (1 CREDIT HR)
	EDUC 5770	FIELD EXPERIENCE IN ESL/BILINGUAL TEACHING (2 CREDIT HRS)

Total Credit Hours : 18
Length of Program: 1 Year

Summer Institute:
