Community Council members are a representative group of parents and employees who are elected to work with the principal to improve student achievement.

Please click here for specific information about eligibility, number of representatives, terms of office and officers.

Community Councils are public meetings and all parents and community members are welcome to attend.  The following ideas may help with this process:

· At the first meeting of the year, establish a schedule of regular meeting dates, times and locations

· Hold meetings in a common area, such as the library, multipurpose room or a large classroom

· Publicize the schedule and extend an open invitation to the community

· Send a reminder notice in your newsletter or post fliers

· Establish procedures for accepting public input

· Follow an agenda

·  Keep minutes of the meetings and publicize the Council’s plans and decisions

·  Begin and end on time

· Keep meetings focused on the goal of improving achievement
