The school was completed in 1966 to serve the growing population of West Valley City and the building was remodeled in 1996, with grounds and water upgraded in 2003. Present school boundaries begin at the center of 3500 S and 4000 W, then W to 4400 W, then S to 4300 S, then E to 3800 W, then N to 4100 S. then W to 4000 W. then N to 3500 S, the point of begin ning. Farnsworth is a walking school. Farnsworth is participating in the state-wide Reading First Grant. Enrollment Farnsworth elementary school serves approximately 714 students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Approximately: 43% are Caucasian 1% are native American 1% are African American 2% are Asian 3% are Pacific Islanders 50% are Hispanic/Latino Computers and technology Many fourth, fifth, and sixth grade classrooms are eMINTS with a computer for every student in the class. Four third grade and one first grade classroom are eMINTS for all. Farnsworth has two computer labs. The school lab is used to support learning in CORE curriculum areas. The other lab is used reinforce reading and math skills. In addition, these labs enhance student language acquisition for our limited English speaking students and parents.
