Extracurricular programs
Skyline has a rich tradition in athletics and is a very competitive member of Region II in the 5A classification. Last year Skyline was named 5A Sports School of the Year by the Salt Lake Tribune and the Women's Sports School of the State by the Deseret News.

Skyline stresses and supports service learning. Community of Caring, Peer Leadership Trainers, Operation Smile Club, Key Club, International Baccalaureate candidates and Student Government all provide many hours of service to our school and our larger community.  Students who participate in the Service Scholar Project may graduate with a Service Scholar Diploma.

Skyline has a highly competitive and award-winning music program and speech and debate team.  Our students actively participate in many clubs and organizations. Student government is an active and vital part of Skyline High School.

School background
Skyline is located on the east bench at the foot of the Wasatch Mountains overlooking Salt Lake City.  The school serves the nearby suburban areas of East Mill Creek, Holladay, Olympus Cove, and Emigration Canyon, and also serves the approximately 500 students who choose to attend Skyline from outside these nearby areas. Strong academics are part of the tradition and culture at Skyline. Our school houses a strong International Baccalaureate Diploma Program and a large and varied Advanced Placement cadre of classes. Skyline has been named to the top four percent of U.S. high schools by Newsweek Magazine. Skyline's faculty strives for excellence in all areas and has great support from parents and the business community.
