Parental Involvement is Key to Student Success in School.

What can school counselors do FOR PARENTS?

  • Support families in navigating the school system and assisting with school concerns.
  • Provide parents with accurate information about their student's progress.
  • Encourage parents to attend individual SEOP meetings where counselors share their student's test results, successes, and assist their student in setting goals for the future.
  • Hold  meetings at parent request with student's teachers or school administrators as needed.
  • Help parents gain access to student's grades and attendance on line.
  • Offer parents district and community resources for critical student issues and  family crisis support.
  • Provide parents with accurate information and assist their student in planning  for school success today and for the future including college and further education and training.
