Granite High School opens Becca’s Closet

Granite High School students have opened a chapter of Becca’s Closet at their school. Becca’s Closet is a nonprofit organization housed in Florida that provides prom dresses to girls might be unable to attend a prom because of the clothing cost. Ambrea Kuhn and Aleisha Ogden received a generous donation of 156 dresses from an outlet called Flirt. The first time the Granite outlet opened, 80 dresses were spoken for.

The girls are asked to return the dresses if possible so someone else can use them for a later dance. They can also trade for another dress. The duo hopes to expand Becca’s Closet to serve young women throughout the state. They need more dresses of all sizes. They are also hoping to secure shoes, jewelry, discounts on dry cleaning and other items. Anyone wishing to donate can drop items off at the Granite High office or contact Debbera Kuhn, 484-4409. The national organization has a website, www.beccascloset.org .
