Extracurricular programs The YMCA extended care program is available M-F before school from 7:30-9, and after school until 5:30 p.m. School background Taylorsville Elementary is located in the west-central area of Granite School District. It was built in 1962 to serve the growing population of Taylorsville. We currently have two buses to transport students who live more than 1.5 miles from the school. The school has 23 self-contained classrooms, computer labs, media center, and three portable classrooms. Enrollment Taylorsville Elementary enrollment is approximately 560 students with Asian 5%, African American 6.5%, Caucasian 47%, Hispanic 33%, American Indian 1%, Pacific Islander 6.5%, and unknown 1%. Computers and technology The school has two computer labs of 35 HP computers where classes spend time each week. Classroom computers are Internet accessible for student and teacher use. A network server provides a variety of programs to every classroom for student and teacher use. Programs include typing tutorials, virtual field trips, math, reading, problem solving, and skill building. Three of our teachers have had special training and teach using wireless mini-labs.
