School background Oakridge Elementary is located in the east area of Granite School District. It was built in 1962 to serve the students east of Wasatch Boulevard in the Olympus Cove area. The general school boundaries are: 3950 South to 4900 South and Wasatch Boulevard (3555 East) to 4300 East. The school has 24 teaching stations, including one "rental": Montessori. Oakridge is an "Art Works for Kids" school, and provides enrichment in the areas of music, dance, and fine arts. We have a full-time music specialist, part time visual arts specialist, and part time dance specialists who integrate the Arts into the CORE curriculum. The philosophy at Oakridge is to provide a well rounded, enriched curriculum to help students reach their highest potential. Oakridge is a ‘SMART Board Showcase’ school and was designated as a ‘National 2008 No Child Left Behind - Blue Ribbon School’.  Oakridge test scores are among the highest in the state of Utah and across the nation.  Enrollment Oakridge Elementary serves approximately 540 students from kindergarten through sixth grade. Approximately 98.58% are Caucasian 5.87% are Asian 3.22% are Hispanic 0.76% are African-American 0.19% are Pacific Islander Computers and Technology Oakridge has 36 IBM/PC computers serving students 1 to 2 hours each week. Each classroom has 1 to 2 computers networked to the computer lab. There are seven teachers using laptop mini-labs in the classrooms, and we have 3 mobile laptop labs, adding another 45 computers.  All classrooms have SMART Boards, which are interactive whiteboards that engages students in their learning.
