Registration Registration for returning students is done in the spring. For new students, packets are sent home on the first day of school. School motto "Work, Learn, Live" School background Truman Elementary is located in the west central area of Granite School District. It was built in 1978 to serve the growing population of West Valley City. Truman is the nursing hub for the west side and serves medically fragile students. Truman also has a parent co-op preschool, Special Education pre-school, SID kindergarten, SID unit grades one to six, and ID units for grades one to six. At Truman, we educate everyone. Enrollment Truman serves approximately 560 students from Kindergarten through sixth grade. Approximately 2% are Native American, 6% are Asian or Pacific Islander, 22% are Hispanic, 3% are Black and 64% are White/Caucasian. Computers and technology The school has two computer labs using IBM/PC equipment. Students spend approximately two hours per week in the computer lab.
