School background
Kearns Junior High is located in the Kearns Community. The address is 4040 West 5305 South. Kearns Junior High was opened in 1956.
The original building was built for use during WWII. All our students go to Kearns High School upon completion of ninth grade.
Enrollment
There are approximately 900
students at Kearns Junior High. We have a diverse population. 27.24% Hispanic,
1.46% Asian, 2.44% Pacific Islanders, 1% Native American, 1.36% African
American.
Computers and Technology
Kearns Junior High has
six computer labs, including one in the media center. The lab is networked and is the backbone of our building wide system. The business and keyboarding classrooms have classroom sets of computers. These classes specialize in computer skills. The school Web site allows parents to check grades and attendance. The SynreVoice System notifies parents automatically if their student is absent.
Student promotion
All Kearns Junior High students after 9th grade will attend Kearns High School.
