Using technology is no longer a choice for teachers or students. Students today want to learn with technology focused on real world skills and experiences. Teachers need to become highly qualified in the use of technology as a tool for learning. Instructional Technology has many programs integrating effective use of technology in classrooms.

In 2000, we began the Mobile Mini-Lab/PowerUser program in which laptops were placed in classrooms. Currently over 450 classrooms participate!

In 2003 the eMINTS4Utah program began in the state, implementing technology at a ratio of one computer for every two students. Granite School District now has 87 of these high tech classrooms.

2005, brought the Cypbercorps program turning students in grades 4-12 technology "experts and support."

And in the fall of 2006, we continue all existing programs while adding Cafe Tech (school based training), ETC (PowerUsers focused on inquiry based strategies), and eMINTS4All (technology & inquiry for primary grades).

We continue to offer many technology trainings with substitutes available for teachers, support EDNET programs, conduct a yearly district technology fair, provide teacher computers, provide school labs, offer volume software pricing, and recently began offering a poster creation and printing service for schools.
