Board Report
The report on the January 25 board of education meeting is now available.
Hunter High Builds Bots
Last year, Hunter High’s Robotics Club smoked the competition. This year, it’s hoping for a little better performance in the 21st annual FIRST Robotics Competition.
Grants & Awards
Eight new grant opportunities are available to district administrators and teachers, including Ecology/Environmental Science Teaching Award, ASCD Outstanding Young Educator Award, Toshiba American Foundation Math and Science award, and more. Teacher Resources sends out grants available to teachers each Friday.
The Other 'Dream Team'
Phaedra Johnson’s Hunter High students have something in common with the Lithuanian national basketball team. The students at Hunter High have overcome some challenges, too. And, like the Lithuanian basketball team, they plan to make an appearance at the Sundance Film Festival.
Kearns Bot
Kearns High School students Thao Nguyen, left, and Eric Mijanos talk about the robot that is able to attend class for a patient, relaying video of class in real-time, and asking questions for the patient. The Kearns High OK Club raised $3,500 toward the donation of a VGo robot to Primary Children’s Medical Center.
