School background Jim Bridger is nestled in a quiet community located in the southwest region of Salt Lake County. Jim Bridger was built in 1985. All of our students live within 1.5 miles and walk to school. We have 21 teaching stations and two exceptional computer labs which every student accesses for keyboard instruction, assessment, and projects. The philosophy at Jim Bridger Elementary is to provide an enriched curriculum to help students reach their highest potential. Our school thrives because of the collaboration of our community of parents, students, teachers, and administration.

Computers and technology In addition to our two computer labs, each classroom is equipped with several computers. Students at Bridger are proficient in using computers as a tool to complete projects by the time they leave third grade. We have 8 e-mints classrooms which provide one computer for every two students. eMINTS teachers receive training by certified instructors to explore Inquiry-based Learning, classroom community, and high-quality lesson design. We have five classes which are learning to use IPOD Touches to support classroom learning and curriculum. All classrooms have projectors, audio enhancement, document cameras, and several classrooms are equipped with SMART Boards which are interactive whiteboards that engages students in their learning.
