MANDT Training

Please be on time, participants cannot be certified if they miss any of the sections

Bring a pencil - Dress Casually  

There is a short break for lunch -

For recertification, please bring your manual

** Participants at all levels MUST recertify every 12 months -  please plan ahead there are NO time allowances

REGISTRATION:
Pre-register with Becky Folker at 385-646-4650 or rfolker@graniteschools.org.  Please include your position (Educator, Para, etc.) when registering

NOTICE:
Paraeducators and school support staff need to have authorization from the special education coordinator covering your school in order to attend MANDT Technical Skills Module Trainings.

Relational and Conceptual Skills Module Training

For: Teachers Paraeducataors, Administrators, and Support staff who have never been trained in the MANDT procedures

Description: The Relational and Conceptual Skills Module training is for participants who interact on a daily basis with individuals who, for the most part, are cooperative.  It stresses the importance of de-escalating behavior and managing oneself in order to better interact with other people.

Technical Skills Module Training

** Must have attended the Relational and Conceptual Skills Module training

For: Teachers, Paraeducators, Administrations, and Support staff who have never been trained in the MANDT procedures.  ** Paraeducators and school support staff need to have authorization from the special education coordinator covering their school in order to attend MANDT Technical Skills Module Training **

Description: The Technical Skills Module training is designed for participants who interact on a daily basis with people who may become uncooperative and/or confused.  The training emphasizes the use of a gradually progressive system of alternatives that involve the least restrictive means of interpersonal and physical interaction.  The interpersonal skills from the Relational and Conceptual Modules are reviewed and practiced, but emphasis is placed on learning appropriate physical skills wile maintaining a high level of dignity and respect.

Additional Requirements: Participants are required to demonstrate mastery of physical skills that require flexibility and strength.  Participants must be able to lift 50 pounds and/or 1/4 of their own body weight to be certified.
