Twitter is an amazing tool to use for collaboration, inspiration, and educational resources. Twitter chats are a great place to get started. You’ll get to talk to other Granite teachers and staff, share ideas, and participate in a short discussion.
Next week the Granite Educational Technology Department is hosting a Twitter Chat discussion for all interested teachers.
Date: Thursday, November 19 2015
Time: 4:30 PM – 5:00 PM
Location: Tweets with the hashtag #gsdedtech on Twitter
The topic of discussion will be: Social Media and Education
The questions that will be asked are:
- How has social media impacted your own learning?
- How has social media affected the way you communicate with parents and students?
- Who do you consider to be the best educators to follow on Twitter when looking for great resources?
- What other topics would you like to discuss in future GSDEdTech Twitter Chats?
This first Granite Ed Tech hosted Twitter Chat is designed to help any interested teacher or staff participants in Granite School District learn more about Twitter and become comfortable using it.
Here are a few resources if you would like to learn more about Twitter in advance:
- Twitter for Teachers (Granite Educational Technology Presentation)
- Twitter Help Center
As a fun incentive, the school with the highest number of teacher participants will receive 6 Chromebooks for their school to use for student instruction.
