Vision Screening
Vision Screenings will be held Friday, January 20th. Screenings are done every year for Kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades. If you volunteered to help, Lee Jepsen should've already contacted you. Any questions please email Beehivepta@hotmail.com.
Take Your Family to School Week
February 6 - 10, 2012
Theme - Making Smart Choices in Media and Online
Take your family to school week focuses on Literacy and Internet Safety.
We are having a planning meeting Friday, January 13, 2012 at 1:30pm in Relo #2 to discuss what we can do to make this week a success. Popcorn will be provided for all in attendance.
If you would like to help in any way, please email CarrieSue Lear at Beehivepta@hotmail.com. We will post more information once we have finalized all of the activities. Look forward to Daily PowerBoosts, a Lunch activity, Morning Mingle, and a game featuring "What Makes Beehive Awesome." We invite you to spend as much time IN the school during this week as possible. As always, please contact your student's teacher specifically to help in the classroom. Parents, Grandparents, or other family members can read an excerpt from a favorite book, participate in progressive math activities/curriculum, or give a short presentation about your career.
In conjunction with TYFTSW we will also be having our Book Fair the nights of February 8th and 9th, which is also during SEPs. We look forward to seeing you there!
Remember you can purchase books for your student's teachers off of their Wish Lists. These will be available the night of the Book Fair in the Media Center.

Memberships
Our goal this month is to get 10 more members. This will DOUBLE our memberships from last year! Membership dues are $5 a person. You definitely get more than $5 worth out of everything PTA does for your student! Please take the time to fill out a PINK membership form available in the office and help us reach this goal. Thank you!
If you are a current PTA Member, PTA Membership Cards are in the office. Please pick them up so you can receive benefits from PTA sponsors like MET-LIFE, HERTZ, OFFICE MAX, AND TEAM MOBILE. Log on to PTA.org for more information on additional sponsors and benefits. Remember to have your card for your username and password (this is on the back of your membership card).
Reflections
Congratulations to Savannah Colledge and Yesenia Mateos who received awards on the Council Level for their projects.
Our next PTA meeting will be held on Monday, January 23rd @ 3:45pm in Relo #2 (The Family Center). All PTA Members are invited to attend.
