Dear Copper Hills Families,

After some serious discussions with our school nurse and other District leaders, we are limiting treats that are brought to school.  The District, as well as the Board of Health, has for years requested that no treats be shared at school unless the food is commercially prepared and individually wrapped.  Because of severe allergies we will now be strictly enforcing this rule.  Maybe a better “treat” would be something non-edible like pencils or stickers.  Many families do not like their children to be given sugar.

Along these same lines we request that no animals be brought to the school.  We have children here with severe allergies and phobias.  Sadly, we must ask your cooperation in keeping pers home.

Parties at school are strongly discouraged because of reasons mentioned above and the pressures for academic learning.  Everything we do at school focuses on student learning.  The Halloween parade this year will be held after school on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 1:30.  School is not in-session on that Friday.

                             Thank you!
