THURSDAY NOTE

February 28, 2008

 

TRACK PREFERENCE  LETTERS  - The Track Preference Letters are due tomorrow,

            February 29th at 3:00 p.m.  If you did not receive a letter, please bring in a proof of

            address (a current bill with your name and address on it) and we will give you another

            letter to fill out if you live in the boundaries of Copper Hills Elementary.  Please make

            sure that your letter is at the school before 3:00 because we cannot accept any late letters.

            Every family must turn in a Track Choice Letter in order to have a choice.  

 

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION  - We will continue to register Kindergarten students for

            2008 - 2009, but if you want a track choice, we need to have them registered

            before February 29th.  We have packets in the office that can be picked up or if

            you want to bring with you:  1) Registered Birth Certificate, 2) Immunization

            Record of the shots your child has up to this point, and 3) Proof of Residency with

            your printed address on it, we can register them while you are here.

 

SCHOLASTIC BOOK AND JAZZ READING CONTEST  - We are so proud of the students at

          Copper Hills Elementary for reading a grand total of  416,080 minutes for the contest.  We

          filled up the Jazz reading chart,  which was our goal.  Way to go!  Please continue to read. 

 

SCHOOL SCIENCE FAIR WINNERS  - This year the District only has 5th and 6th grade

            students going on to the District Science Fair.  Congratulations goes to:  Taylon Boyle

            and Candace Stewart from 5th Grade and Mackenzie Blundell and Frida Moses from

            6th Grade.

 

HOMEWORK CLUB  - Come join Mrs. Tanner, Mrs. Thompson, Mrs. Timothy and Ms.

            Evans every Monday and Thursday from now until the end of May.  Our Homework Club

            is held in room 28 from 3:20 - 4:00 p.m.  All students are welcome with permission from

            a parent. 

 

GRANITE SCHOOL DISTRICT PRESCHOOL SERVICES  - Registration for the Fall

            2008 - 2009 Sessions are going on now!  If you have questions you can call the

            Granite School District Preschool Services at 646-4672. 

 

SPRING PICTURES FOR C TRACK  - On Tuesday, March 4, 2008, C Track

            will have their spring pictures taken.  If you don’t want your

            student’s picture taken you can send the form back signed and they

            won’t take their picture.

 

A TRACK ONLY!!!  - On Wednesday, March 5th, A Track will have an extra planning day and

            they will be dismissed at 1:20.  Please mark your calendar and note that this is for A

            Track only. 

 

SEP CONFERENCES FOR A TRACK  - SEP Conferences for A Track will be held on Wednesday

          and Thursday, March 12th and 13th from 3:30 - 7:15 p.m.  Please watch for conference times

          to come home with your students.
