THURSDAY NOTE

May 22, 2008

EARLY OUT WEDNESDAYS FOR NEXT YEAR  - The Granite Board of Education listened.  Parents asked to have the Wednesday, middle-of-the-week early

days eliminated.  There was a committee consisting of parents, teachers,

GEA, principals, and district administrators who explored all possibilities.  This

committee presented recommendations to the Granite Board on April 15,

with final action taken on April 29.  Year-round schools will only have three

extra early-out Wednesdays reserved for end-of-term grading.

CRT TESTING  - The CRT Testing for C and D Tracks, grades 2nd through 5th, will start

on May 19th and go through May 30th.  We want every child to do their best on the

test and so we ask that you make sure that your student:

                        1) goes to bed early and gets a good nights rest.

                        2) eats a good breakfast.

                        3) comes to school on time.

                        4) is at school when the class is testing.

The 3rd through  5th grades will be taking the test on the computer this year and so

it is really important that those students are here in class at their allotted computer

time.  If your student needs to be gone, please check with the teacher on schedule

times for testing.  Thank you for your help.
