LAND Trust Mid-Year Report:
Did you know that about once a month our fabulous teachers spend a full day working collaboratively with doing Response to Intervention (RtI)? This is a cutting edge, research based process that allows us to identify and build specific plans to help struggling learners, or students with special learning needs. Identified students are given the added interventions and their process is monitored and measured. Teachers meet the following month to discuss progress and build new strategies, if appropriate. The work done through this method is making a positive difference in the lives of many of our children.
We are able to do this because of the money from our LAND Trust. This money comes from lands in Utah that are specifically set aside to generate money for education. Our portion of this money is governed by our School Community Council. Anyone may attend these meetings. This month, it will be held February 29th at 7:45 am. Elections to the council board will be held this spring. Membership and/or attendance is a way to have direct input to how we can improve student learning at our school.
