Mrs. Verneita Hunt

Mrs. Hunt was born and raised in Kansas. She graduated and received her masters degree from BYU. She taught for ten years at Bridger Elementary and then worked as the assistant principal at Murray High, Churchill Jr., Westbrook and Plymouth schools. Most recently she was the principal at Taylorsville Elementary.

You might assume her favorite movie is "The Wizard of Oz"---but she’s not in Kansas any more. When you step into her office now it becomes very clear she’s a Disney fan. She loves Mickey, Minnie everything Disney and has ever since she was 2 years old. Disneyland and Disneyworld are her two favorite spots on earth.

Mrs. Hunt has four children and four grandchildren and loves to spend time with her family. When her children were young she made all their clothing and was famous for her home-made glazed donuts. She loves the arts and worked for a time as a graphic artist.

When she was only five, her father was killed in an automobile accident. This forced her mother to find work--two jobs in fact, and it gave Mrs. Hunt a lot of new responsibilities at home. She was the oldest daughter and had to take care of three younger brothers and sisters while her mom worked. The most important thing her mom taught her was that if you try hard enough you can do anything. Her mom went on to become the Mayor of Mulvane, Kansas.

We welcome Mrs. Hunt to our school and look forward to getting to know her better.
