Miss Gilchrist loves to teach 4th grade! This will be her eighth year teaching in Granite School District. She previously spent eleven years teaching at Sylvan Learning Center. She grew up in Northeastern Washington and came to Utah to attend BYU. Sorry folks, no Ute fan here! She is the oldest of 6 children and thoroughly enjoys her 11 nieces and nephews. She is somewhat of a bookaholic--having 4 bookcases in her bedroom, another in the living room, and many, many shelves of books in her classroom. Her favorite traveling experience was spending a month in the British Isles (with a weekend in Paris). She has also spent a year and a half in Brazil. She chose to teach at the elementary level because of her many interests--reading, music, writing, math, science, history, computers, etc. Her favorite subjects to teach are Math and Science!
