Preview of This Month

It's May! Can you believe it? What a great school year it has been! I have loved working with these beautiful children all year. The first week in May is CRT week in which we give end-of-level tests every day. I try to make it a fun week with testing in the morning and fun activities in the afternoon.  We are in the middle of painting beautiful watercolor paintings of houses. You will be impressed with your child's work.  This month we will participate in the PTA Post Office Week. We will be working  on letter writing skills. The students will also be working on their writing portfolios so they have a nice collection of creative writing to take home at the end of the school year. In language arts, we will be developing media literacy. We will learn about advertising techniques, understanding media messages, and being educated consumers. We will finish our study of Utah History and take a field trip to Red Butte Gardens and the This Is The Place Historical Park.  There is still a lot left to learn before we have to say good-bye for the summer.
