November
18, 2009 Samuel, November 18, 2009. I had a good day today. I started the day by lining up outside with the rest of my class. I went inside and did my cursive, and Mrs. Miller told the class it was time to go to reading. I went to Ms. Stott’s class for reading. We started on our FPS (Future Problem Solving) step 2. My group had to decide what would be the best topic for writing as a main problem by reading our problems that my group wrote yesterday, but when we chose the problem to write about we had forgotten what to do! So I went to Ms. Stott and asked, “What is my group supposed to do?” And sure enough Ms. Stott told me how to do FPS step 2. Then, we went to library. At library I returned my two books that I had checked out the week before. Then the whole class sat down on the carpet. We listened to a story that was about what teachers do when we leave school. The teachers made a big mess, and they made slime. I checked out two books and started one of them. Then it was time to go back to reading to finish FPS step 2. My group had a hard time deciding on if we were going to do environment or defense. We chose defense and started writing some solutions on how we could fix the problem of defending the species that were endangered by invasive species on Robinson Crusoe island. I didn’t finish, and so I had homework. Next was first recess. I started playing four square. It was very fun. Next we went inside for math. We did two time tests and checked yesterday’s assignment. I did pretty well on yesterday’s assignment. Then Mrs. Miller assigned us a new assignment. I started on it but didn’t finish. Next was lunch. We had recess afterwards. Recess was very fun. Of course, I played four square. We played for a long time. Then it was time to go back in. We went in and started taking off wire covering on some covered wire. While we were doing it because it was a long project Mrs. Miller started reading two chapters of Freak the Mighty. Then it was time for recess again. I played four square again. Then we had to go back inside. We finished the project by taking some of the uncovered wire and wrapping it around a penny and sticking the penny halfway inside a lemon. Then we stuck a nail in the lemon. After we stuck in a nail, Mrs. Miller said we could feel a small electric circuit going through when we touched our tongue to the nail and the wire at the same time. I couldn’t really feel it. Afterwards, Mrs. Miller gave us our fundraiser boxes. Then Mrs. Miller read two yellow sheets. We guessed both people in a couple of tries.
Next we had to pack up. Then it was time to go. It was another amazingly
fabulous day at
