Purpose: Homeworkopoly is a fun way to encourage students to complete their homework on time.
The students in Room 18 get to play Homeworkopoly each Monday, if they have brought in all of their homework assignments for the entire week. The Homeworkoply game board looks a lot like Monopoly, but has different rules and spaces. To play, each student gets to roll the dice. Then, they move the number of spaces that they rolled. They will be able to buy properties on the board and then charge rent if someone lands on their property. Students can also be sent to detention (jail), and in order to get out of detention they will have to roll doubles or pay $100. All money paid, wheither detention money or Chance and Community Lunchbox money, will go into the Extra Recess fund. If any student lands on Exra Recess, he/she will collect all the money from the fund. There is a possibility of winning some pretty cool rewards if you are lucky enough to land on one of these spaces:
