1 cup flour
1 cup water
1/4 cup salt
2 tsp. cream of tarter
1 tbsp. vegetable oil

 

In a saucepan, mix all ingredients. Cook over medium heat, stir constantly. The dough will get thicker as it cools. When dough becomes very thick and gathers in a ball on the spoon, dump on a plate or in a bowl. When cool enough to handle, knead until smooth. Store in a sealed container.

 

HINTS:
**This is a strange recipe...it will seem like it is not working. It is lumpy and takes about 5 minutes to thicken on the stove. Once it is kneaded, it feels like the play dough that you buy in the store.
