A few weeks ago
We had an idea...
The students of Eastwood had
A wonderful idea!

The winter holidays soon
would be here.
So what could we do to bring
a person some cheer?

We thought and we thought
and then the idea came.

Without giving of ourselves the
holidays would not be the
same.

We learned that lessons from
old Mr. Grinch.
As our hearts grew 3 sizes
we realized giving's a cinch.

Giving of ourselves means
just a bit more.
So a great big surprise was
not a big chore.

Who could we give to?
and
What could we do?
To help someone out for all
that they do.

We thought and we thought and
then the plan fell into place.

What we wanted
to do would put
a smile on his face.

Eastwood's own,
Mr. Grant Carter.

For a technology guy
you can't find one
that's smarter.

He is super
important to all
of us at
Eastwood.

He keeps our
computers all
running as they
should.

We've always
appreciated his
"can do" attitude.
And besides that
he's a real cool
dude!

Always patient and kind
A friendlier smile you could
never find.

He teaches, he fixes, he
problem solves galore.
A surprise for him we felt was
in store.

Please accept our gift, our
great big surprise.
To purchase equipment to help
you exercise.

Every WHO up at Eastwood the
tall and the small

Gave of ourselves, a
gift that needs no
wrapping at all!

We appreciate
YOU
and all that
YOU DO!

Happy Holidays
and
Merry Christmas
from Eastwood to you!

"Thank you" from Mr. Carter

Almost four years ago a ski accident left me in a wheelchair. Just days after that accident Mrs. Marchant, the principal at Eastwood visited me in the hospital and she told me how much everyone wanted me to recover and return to school. Several days later I got a book written by the community of caring team at Eastwood, it was filled with letters, jokes, stories, and words of encouragement. Many cards were sent also. It made me feel so good inside.

People from the school community contributed to a fundraiser to help purchase an elevator to go in my home, so I could return home. I was overwhelmed by your support and love. Months of physical therapy were endured by the thought of returning to work and seeing my friends at school. Eight months after my accident I was greeted by your wonderful smiles. I feel your support and friendship with each smile and helping hand you give me. Each Christmas my family has been caroled by Eastwood children at our home, daily I have students help me with light switches too high to reach, doors that are hard to open, chairs and desks that are in the way, and never ending little things I can't do for myself.

Now this wonderful gift you have most recently given me has left me totally humbled. I want you to know I appreciate it as much as those daily gifts you give me in your friendship and support.

One of the many things I have learned from this experience in my life is how wonderful all of you are. My wife Melissa and I thank you for all that you do for us.

Grant Carter
