Job Descriptions

 

President Elect - Shall work under and in cooperation with the president and fulfill such other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors or the president. As appropriate, as president-in-training, they will attend meetings with the president, including council meetings (if desired). In the absence of the president or his/her ability to act, perform the duties and exercise the powers of the president. Automatically succeed to the office of the
Vice President - Shall act as aides to the president.  In their designated order as determined by the executive committee at its first meeting, perform the duries and exercise the powers of the president in his/her and the president-elect's absence or inablity to act.  Also perform such other duties as may be provided for by these by-laws prescribed by the parlimentary authorite, or directed by the president, the Board of Directors or the executive committee.
Legislative Vice President - Follows all the bills presented during the Legislative session.  Also follows any bill throughout the year the PTA feels needs to be watched.  Helps set up the phone tree so when there is concern about a bill, they can get in touch with the members to voice their opionion to their senators and legislators.
Leadership Vice President - Shall put together and submit all the awards for volunteers, programs, teachers, etc. sponsored through the PTA and other organizations.
Treasurer - Shall have custody of and be responsible for all funds of this PTA, counting all money with three people present and depositing all money in the bank the same day received. Collect and keep a full accurate account of receipts and expenditures of all moneys of this PTA. Develop, with the executive committee, and annual budget to be distributed to and approved by the membership of this PTA at the first general membership meeting of the school year. Make disbursements as authorized by the president, executive committee, or this PTA in accordance with the budget adopted by the PTA. Co-sign all checks with the president, president-elect, or secretary. Reguire an official PTA check be used for all purchases when the Utah PTA tax-exempt number is used. Make monthly remittance of membership dues. Present a financial statement at every meeting of the PTA and at other times when requested by the executive committee. Make a financial report at the annual meeting in May and submit a full written financial report to the incoming executive committee by the close of the fiscal year. Be responsible for the maintenance of such books of account and records as conform to the requirements of the by-laws. Submit the books annually and upon the change of officer for an audit by an auditor or an auditing committee.
