A MESSAGE FROM Dr. McCarty --

John C. Fremont Elementary School Webpage
School Motto:  Discover the Leader in Me!
Who We Are:  Fremont Elementary School prepares students for success in the 21st Century with student-centered data and leadership instruction.  We are committed to help build the necessary leadership skills that will help them succeed and utilize student data to guide instruction and individual student lifeplans.

  • Family Literacy for English Language Learners. Key to successful student achievement is the education level of the parents and their involvement in their children’s’ schools.  In partnership with Granite, Mexico’s Tecnologico de Monterrey, Utah State University, USOE and the Mexican Consulate in Salt Lake City, Fremont offers afternoon classes to teach online academic programs, in Spanish, for general education degrees (GED) for our Hispanic parents. Classes are taught with our bilingual outreach workers who assist each parent to acquire English fluency and academic excellence.
  • Franklin-Covey Leadership Model School.  Fremont was selected by Franklin-Covey to be their model ‘lighthouse’ school for the Stephen Covey 7 Habits of Highly Effective People for elementary age children – The Leader In Me.  Leader In Me helps teachers and parents to build the necessary leadership and life-skills in our children that will help them to succeed in tomorrow’s world of work.
  • Educational Technologies Prototype School.  The Panasonic Corporation has chosen Fremont Elementary to be a beta test site for Panasonic Technologies where new educational technology equipment and ideas are being developed to lead our children into the 21st Century and beyond.  We are ‘pathfinders’ in academics; teacher instruction; parent involvement; and educational technology.
