Outlook Calendar Instructions (Lab sign-ups)

Why sign up for the lab this way?

- It gives everyone an advantage to see when the lab is open and sign up FROM their classroom.

- It lets me see who is coming and how I can help.

Any questions? Feel free to contact me.

To see the new lab schedule calendar follow these instructions -

  • Open Microsoft Outlook (NOT OWA - the web based version)
  • Click on Calendar. It's on the left.
  • In the left panel click on "open shared calendar".
  • Type in Hillsdale. There are two of them - one for each lab.
  • Repeat and chose the other lab also.
  • (This is NOT a public calendar) Only Hillsdale staff will see it. (If you do NOT see it you need to let me know.)
  • Shared calendars do NOT show up in OWA, sorry.

To sign up for the either one -

  • Click on the correct lab (Title 1 is the YPP lab, title one lab, large)
  • Click where there is a vacancy. Tricky in the big lab - The YPP lab can handle 2 classes. If only one class is signed up you can click in any vacant area but you'll have to change the time.
  • In the subject type your track and last name (A - Henderson)
  • Location put in what your are going to do, or leave blank
  • Chose your start time (make sure it is AM or PM too)
  • DO NOT create a recurring event.
  • Click save and close
  • Show up in the lab!
  • You CANNOT edit any items - including your own. If you goof, delete yours and add it again.
  • You will have to keep track of which track is off and you may sign-up for their spot by adding your name so there could be for names in some cases. Two will be off track.
