INTERCONNECTIONS CONTINENT: AFRICA

Africa

Tectonic forces that split Africa from South America 150 million
years ago left a continent characterized, primarily, by a vast, rolling plateau. Scientists located  fossil microorganisms in Africa that date to 3.2 billion years ago, some of the earliest evidence of life on earth.

Pride of Lions

This group of lions lives on the savanna region in Masai  Mara, Kenya, in Africa. The grasslands are ideally suited to the needs of these carnivores. Africa now protects many large cats in game reserves.
