Welcome to Second Grade! Plan on having a great adventure in science and social studies. We will learn about plants, animals, rocks, weather, economics, communities, maps, and also Africa. Our brains will be inundated with the education we gain in school this year. You will all burst with success!!!!

Our curriculum in Second Grade is using and mastering skills you gained in First Grade. In math we build on our addition and subtractionfacts, counting money, telling time, and we learn how to regroup numbers.

Open Court is our reading program which is theme oriented with lots of reading and writing opportunities. We also will use the Guided Reading approach in our classrooms. We will have a wonderful year.
