General Student Participation Rules

Theme:
“I can make a difference by…” Only new pieces of artwork inspired by the theme are acceptable.
Each work must be the work of only one student. Assistance form teachers, parents, or friends is not permitted except in special cases, (such as for the visually or physically challenged), and only with permission from the student’s PTA. There is a limit of one entry per student per category.

Grade divisions:
• Primary: kindergarten-grade 2
• Intermediate: grades 3-5
• Middle: grade 6

Art Areas:
• Literature
• Musical Composition
• Photography
• Visual Arts
• Dance, Film/Video
• Theater, 3D

Children with disabilities:
Parents may place their child in the Reflections Program grade division that best reflects the child’s developmental age. However this must be approved through the PTA reflections committee before entry.

Deadline:
Monday, November 19, 2007

Judging:
All entries are judged on artistic merit, creativity, and interpretation of the theme. Under no conditions may parents or students contact the judges to dispute the status of an entry. All decisions of judges are final.

Awards: Monday, December 3, 2007
