for Patients Oakwood Elementary is currently participating in a
campaign called Pennies for Patients to further an important cause: finding a
cure for blood cancer. This campaign
has raised millions of dollars in pennies and other spare change with
participation from more than 10 million elementary, middle and high school
students throughout the country. The funds benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma
Society. So donate your pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters during the
Pennies for Patients campaign. By
simply donating change and watching the coins add up, students learn that
even a small effort can make a real difference in the lives of others. Community
of Caring: Fight or Flight? Conflict resolution is the theme for February. It is important to know how to resolve
conflicts when they arise. Students
are asked to make and accomplish goals related to this. They should state these goals in writing
and describe how they accomplish them.
Parents sign student’s goals sheets. Students give these sheets to their
teachers. Have you
walked 9 Gold Medal Miles this month? Our students are walking to and from the 2010
Olympics in What’s for lunch? If you would like to browse menus or pay online for your student’s school lunch you can set up an account with PayPAMS. Visit the company’s website at https://paypams.com/HomePage.aspx
