Upcoming Saturday Chess Tournaments

Who?

Students in grades K-6 who know how to play chess or are serious about learning may join by bring his completed registration form to the school office with a $10.00 annual club fee. Checks should be made payable to the "Oakwood Chess Club".
The Club will be coached by Sherri Astle, Michael Wright and other volunteers. We need more volunteer help. If you are interestsed in assisting, please note on the registration form or call Michael Wright at 278-6786.

When? Thursday mornings at 8:00 a.m.
Where? Oakwood Elementary Lunch Room
Why?

Chess is a science, an art, and a sport. Playing chess is like doing mental gymnastics. It exercises both the creative and reasoning parts of our brains.

Chess builds a child's intelligence.

Chess develops a child's creativity.

Chess teaches children to be good sports.

Chess is fun!
