Comprehension

Writing

Number Sense & Operations
- recognize and write numbers from 0 to 10,000
- know numbers in ones, tens, hundreds and thousands columns up to 9,999
- use expanded notation un to 9,999 (9,000+900+90+9)
- know odd/even numbers
- compare 10 more/less, 100 more/less up to 1,000
- use symbols to compare greater than (>), less than (<), equal to (=), and not equal to (≠)
- add and subtract 3 digit numbers (with regrouping)
- learn multiplication facts up to ten and the related division facts
- use fact families to demonstrate number relationships
- estimate and round numbers
- name, write and compare fractions
- identify numerator and denominator
- solve equations involving equivalent expressions (6+4=__+7)
Patterns
- create and extend growing patterns
Geometry
- understand and determine line of symmetry and congruency
- identify angles (right, obtuse, acute)
- use coordinates for maps and graphs
- name and compare polygons
Measurement
- estimate and measure in customary and metric measurement in length, weight, capacity and temperature
- add and subtract money
- read time to the nearest five minutes
