The Three Robbers
Long ago in England, there was a gang of three robbers. The leader was a big, broad man known as Tall Tam. One of the other robbers was a very small person called Wee Robin. The third robber was a middle-sized man who was known as Jon o' the Moor. One day, the three robbers hid in a forest. When a pair of travelers came along, the robbers sprang out at them. They took all the travelers' money - many silver coins. Then the robbers went to their hideout to divide the money. Because he was the biggest, and the others were afraid of him, Tall Tam took half the coins, plus one. Because Jon o' the Moor was bigger than Wee Robin, he took half of the remaining coins, plus one. This left Wee Robin with four silver coins. How many coins did the robbers take from the group of travelers?
