Dear Parents,
Welcome to February! We are getting to a very busy time of the school
year. So, I wanted to let you know about various things going on in
our classroom.
First, some of you may be wondering what we will be doing for Valentine's
Day. We will be celebrating Valentine's Day on Tuesday, February 14th.
We will be having our Valentine's Day parties in our original homeroom
classes. That means I will be having a Valentine's Day party with my
afternoon students. Likewise, Mrs. Eng will be having a Valentine's
Day party with her afternoon students. My afternoon students are invited
to bring Valentines to pass out to the class on Tuesday, February 14th.
They will also be making a Valentine bag at school, so you do not need
to make anything at home. Look for a class list to come home soon, so
that your child can address his/her Valentines.
Second, we will be studying patriotism as part of our Social Studies
curriculum in February. As part of the unit, we will be learning about
our national symbols. Each child will be expected to complete a project
about a national symbol of his/her choice. I will be sending home more
information about this project next week.
I also wanted to remind you that the end of the second trimester is
Thursday, February 16th. I will be sending home a current progress report
with your child this week. The progress report will show all current
and missing tests, assignments, and homework for the second trimester.
If your child has any missing work that they would still like to receive
credit for, it will need to be turned in by Friday, February 10th. Please
give any reading, spelling, or handwriting homework/assignments to Ms.
Farnsworth. And give any math, Chinese, or interconnections homework/assignments
to Miss Li.
Finally, S.E.P. Conferences coming up in a couple of weeks. S.E.P. Conferences
will be on Wednesday, February 22nd and Thursday, February 23rd. The
conferences will be held from 9:00 AM until 7:30 PM on these two days.
Please sign-up for a conference time at the office. Be thinking about
the goals that we set in November and decide what would be good goals
for your child this next term.
Thank you for all of your help and support!
Ms. Farnsworth
